Modes of Educational Translation
Edited by Jonathan Cohen and Eli Holzer | Published by the Mandel Foundation and the Melton Centre for Jewish Education in the Diaspora, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem
This volume is concerned with the possibility of “translating” insights derived from areas of knowledge sometimes thought to be outside the purview of education – to issues and problems on the agenda of educational thinkers, researchers and practitioners. The articles presented in this volume are the product of an academic research seminar that convened regularly over two years in a collaborative project of the Mandel Foundation and the Melton Center for Jewish Education of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The seminar group brought together scholars and educators with diverse perspectives and backgrounds with a shared interest in relating philosophical inquiry to the practice of Jewish education, focusing on modes of educational translation.
